This study explores digital violence against women — its severity, impact and solutions — through in-depth interviews with 12 Libyan women leaders who faced digital harms.
The study concludes that women leaders or activists are often a target of organized DVAW campaigns as they present a threat to the status quo in the country’s gender-power balance. Women also face complex digital violence based on intersectionality with other affiliations, whether ethnic, intellectual, political, or even related to appearance.
